Time has passed—The clock has ticked
We’re starting a year brand new
We start a fresh—Another chance
Resolutions I must do
I’ll get a job—I’ll loose some weight
I’ll make a friend—I’ll start to date
I’ll make more money—I’ll buy a house
I’ll spend more time—With my spouse
I’ll take a trip—I’ll travel far
I’ll buy a boat—I’ll buy a car
I’ll improve myself—I’ll read a book
I’ll cut my hair—I’ll change my look
I’ll go to church—I’ll volunteer
It might be good—For my career
I’ll buy a horse—I’ll buy a saddle
I’ll lease a ranch—I’ll buy some cattle
Well look at this—It’s last years list
Each goal it seems—I’ve somehow missed
This must be—A silly game
Both years lists you see—Are just the same
As you read this, we have already entered the new year. 2023. Perhaps your resolutions are already made or like me, you are not much of a resolution maker. It seems when we think of making resolutions we think of big things. There is an old saying that says, “If you take care of the small things the big things will take care of themselves.” This year my resolution is to try to do the small things well.
At least, that’s the view here from behind the grindstone.
