Wilma Marion Snyder-Lowe, age 97, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022 in Loveland, CO surrounded by her loving family. She lived a long, rewarding and noble life that will surely leave a lasting impact for generations to come. Her legacy will never be forgotten. Wilma was born June 19, 1925 to Harve and Elva Snyder on the family farm southeast of Arapahoe. She was the 7th of 8 children and the last surviving child of Harve and Elva Snyder. Wilma graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1944. In February of 1944, shortly before graduating, she married Merril A. “Bud” Lowe of Cheyenne Wells, CO. They then made their home southwest of Cheyenne Wells. To this union, 3 children were born: Archie Harve Lowe, born July 14, 1945; Billy Ray Lowe, born May 4, 1947; and, Carol Anne (Lowe) Armfield, born December 20, 1952. Wilma, better known to all who loved her as Billie, was a tomboy at heart, enjoyed sports and could be found working alongside Bud on their family farm. If there was a tractor that needed to be driven, or a post needing placed, she was right there with him working. One of her proudest achievements, aside from her unwavering faith and unconditional love and support for her family and friends, was her position as an Officer of the Colorado Chapter of the Eastern Star, representing Cheyenne County. She was also steadfast in her Christian faith and shared that with both her family and others through her work with the Cheyenne Wells United Methodist Church Youth Group. After leaving the Cheyenne County area, Billie pursued her passion of taking care of others in need and spent several years working as a CNA. She loved caring for others and bestowed this trait upon her children and grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face and carried herself with grace and poise. Billie was a devoted mother, dedicated sister, doting grandmother… a friend to everyone… a stranger to no-one. She loved with every ounce of her being and demonstrated each and every day her unwavering faith in the Lord. Wilma Snyder-Lowe is preceded in death by her parents, Harve and Elva Snyder; her siblings: Mort Snyder, Floyd Snyder, Seymour Snyder, Anna Williams Knoll, Lois Snyder and Margie Billinger; her husband, Ed Graham; and, one grandson: Corey Hill. She is survived by: 3 children: Archie M. and Rusti Lowe of Steamboat, CO, Billy R. and Alesia Lowe of Cheyenne Wells, and Carol Ann (Lowe) & Larry Armfield of Johnstown, CO; 7 grandchildren: Archie Craig Lowe of Denver, CO, Lara (Lowe) & Vince Crowell of Colorado Springs, CO, Lauran (Lowe) Hill of Cheyenne Wells, CO, Leah (Lowe) & Aaron Olson of Lake Stevens, WA, Logan & Allison Lowe of Eads, CO, Joseph & Olivia Timmermeyer of Johnstown, CO, Matthew & Stefani Timmermeyer of Loveland, CO & Elizabeth & Jesse McAninch of Manassas, VA ; as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
