The Wranglers Gymnastics Team of Wild West Athletics in Lamar, Colorado competed at the MARVELous Gymnastics Meet in Hays, Kansas on March 11th and 12th 2023.
WWA was one of 15 teams in the Missouri Valley league in attendance entering 39 competitors of the 540 total gymnasts.
Bella Adame of Eads, Level 2, had amazing meet scoring a 38.35 in the All Around earning the Reserve Champion Silver Medal. Adame’s highest individual score was a 9.75 on both Vault and Beam earning her the first place Gold Medal and on Beam earning the Silver. She ended up in the top 50 of the meet where she placed 30th out of 540 competitors.
Lynnin Alba of Lamar, Pre Team Level 1, was the Vault Champion in her division scoring a 9.65 earning her the Gold Medal. Alba was the Bronze Medal winner placing third in the All Around with a score of 37.15.
Brystal Bletzacker of Eads, Level Gold, had an exceptional competition. She excelled with her bar routine placing first with a 9.75 where she earned the title of Champion taking home the Gold Medal. Bletzacker had a no fall beam routine scoring 9.40 and placed 2nd in the All Around with a score of 37.15 earning the Reserve Championship title and taking home the Silver Medal.
Taylor Brisendine of Walsh, Pre-Team Level 1, was one of the gymnasts that WWA moved up to compete within the sanctioned division instead of recreational pre-team division. Brisendine proved her position as a team competitor in the future as she scored a 38.30 at this first team sanctioned meet. She brought home 4 Gold Medals where she placed first in Bars, Beam, Floor, and in the All Around. Brisendine ended up in the top 50 of the meet where she placed 31st out of 540 competitors.
Annalise Buegel of Lamar, Level 1, took home two Silver Medals earning second place on Bars with a 9.0 and Beam with a 9.30. Buegel earned the Championship title in three positions in her division taking home the Gold Medals on Vault and Floor with a 9.65 and in the All Around with a 37.60.
Carli Collins of Holly, Level 1, was listed in the TOP 50 at this competition where she was 22nd out of 540 other competitors with a 38.5 all around score. She had an amazing beam routine scoring 9.75 earning the second place Reserve Champion Beam title and her highest score of the day was on Vault with a 9.85.
Claira Currell of Lamar, Level 2, took home 4 Gold Medals with the bragging rights of Champion on Vault, Bars, Floor, and in the All Around with a score of 38.55. Currell was listed in the TOP 50 gymnasts of the meet where she placed 18th of 540 competitors.
Nasya Forgey of Lamar, Pre Team Level 1, tied for first place in the All Around with a 37.75 score, taking home the second place Silver Medal. This was particularly impressive due to the fact that this was her first sanctioned competition where she was competing within the competitive division vs. pre team recreational. Forgey’s highest individual score of the meet was a 9.60 on Beam.
Jesenia Gamboa of Granada, Level Gold, had an All Around score of 36.05. Gamboa earned the Bronze Medal on bars with a 9.15 and her highest scoring event was the Balance Beam with a 9.35.
Calie Green of Syracuse, Level 1, had an outstanding competition where she was listed as the TOP 50 competitors where she was 10th out of 540 gymnasts. Green’s highest scoring event was a 9.80 on Vault, earned the Gold Medal placing 1st on Floor, and took home two Silver Medals where she was Reserve Champion on both Bars and in the All Around division.
Connie Gregory of Eads, Pre Team Level 1, over exceeded expectations as this was her first sanctioned competition where she competed in the competitive division vs. the recreational division. Gregory scored a wopping All Around of 37.45, took home one Bronze Medal placing third on Bars, two Reserve Champion Silver Medals on both Beam and Floor, and was the Champion Vaulter scoring a 9.80 earning the Gold Medal.
Scarlett Fox of Syracuse, Pre Team Level 1, scored a 35.95 in the All Around and had her highest individual score on Beam with a 9.6 earning her the Bronze Medal placing 3rd.
Katelynn Freouf of Granada, Level 1, dominated Vault with a 9.80 and Floor with a 9.50 where she earned the Championship title in her division taking home the Gold Medal. Freouf had an All Around score of 37.25 placing her third and taking home the Bronze Medal.
Rhyelin Harper of McClave, Level 2, had an All Around score of 37.95 earning the third place Bronze Medal. Harper’s highest individual score was a 9.75 on both Vault and Beam earning the title of Reserve Champion Vaulter and on Beam where she placed third earning the Bronze Medal.
Jacee Kravig of Wiley, Level Platinum, scored an All Around of 36.75. Kravig’s highest scoring event was the Balance Beam with a 9.40.
River Loader of Manter, Level Gold, scored a 36.00 All Around earning her the third place Bronze Medal in her age division. Loader, additionally, took home two Reserve Championship titles on both Bars and Beam earning the Silver Medal.
Mia Marquez of Granada, Pre Team Level 1, had an amazing first sanctioned meet where she competed with the team division vs. the recreational pre team division. Marquez scored a 37.50 in the All Around and was the Reserve Champion on the Balance Beam where she took home the 2nd place Silver Medal with a s score of 9.70.
Olivia Marquez of Granada, Pre Team Level 1, proved to be ready for the challenge of the competitive division vs. the recreational division by winning her All Around at her first sanctioned competition scoring a 37.70. Marquez also took home the Gold Medal earning her the title of Top Vaulter within her division with a score of 9.70.
Priya Mayjoy of Lamar, Level 3, gained the title of Reserve Champion on both Vault and Beam scoring a 9.25 and 9.60 where she took home the 2nd place Silver Medals. Mayjoy’s All Around score was a 36.35 placing her third and earning the Bronze Medal within her division.
Raegan McCallum of Springfield, Level 3, dominated the Balance Beam in her division with a 9.70 where she took home the 1st place Gold Medal. McCallum earned the Runner Up title on both Bars and Floor and was the Champion in the All Around scoring a 36.90.
Sophia Melgosa of Lamar, Level 1, had a phenomenal competition where she took home 3 Championship titles earning the 1st place Gold Medal with scores of 9.75 on Bars, 9.85 on Beam, & 38.95 in the All Around. Melgosa was honored with being listed in the TOP 50 where she was the 5th highest scoring gymnast of the 540 entries.
Elizabeth Mortimeyer of Lamar, Level 2, scored a 37.05 in the All Around. Mortimeyers highest score of the competition was on Beam with a 9.45.
Kaedyn Rushton of Holly, Level 2, took home 3 Gold Medal’s earning her the Champion title on Bars, Beam, and in the All Around Division where she had a score of 38.40. Rushton placed in the top 50 of the meet where she placed 26th out of 540 competitors.
Hope Shalberg of McClave, Pre Team Level 1, scored a 37.65 in the All Around where she earned the Runner Up title taking home the Silver Medal. Shalberg dominated the Floor Exercise in her division where she gained the title of Champion and receiving the Gold Medal.
Livia Shalber of McClave, Pre Team Level 1, was the most consistent gymnast in placings where she swept the Reserve Champion Silver Medal with scores of 9.60 pm Vault, 9.25 on Bars, 9.55 on Beam, 9.45 on Floor, and a 37.85 in the All Around Division.
Stella Simon of Syracuse, Level Platinum, left the MARVELous Invitational with two Silver Medals on Vault with a score of 9.15 and in the All Around with a score of 37.40 and two Gold Medals with scores of 9.25 on Bars and 9.65 on Floor.
Cayleigh Stum of Sheridan Lake, Level 3, received the Championship title taking home the Gold Medal on Vault with a 9.40, Bars with a 9.0, and Floor with a 9.45. Stum had an All Around score of 36.55 earning the Silver Medal placing 2nd in her division.
Reyna Stum of Sheridan Lake, Level 2, earned the Gold Medal placing 1st in her division on Floor with a score of 9.55 and placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.60, Bars with a 9.65, and in the All Around with a mighty score of 38.00.
Giana Tamayo of Holly, Level 1, scored a very high All Around score of 38.50 proving that consistency in routines is a benefit where she was listed in the TOP 50 at the MARVELous Invitational placing 21st out of 540 gymnasts. Tamayo’s highest scoring event was Vault with a 9.70.
Gracelyn Tedder of Walsh, Level 3, scored a 35.30 in the All Around. Tedder’s highest scoring event of the competition was on Vault with a 9.25.
Madilyn Tedder of Walsh, Level 3, scored a 35.15 in the All Around. Tedder’s highest scoring event of the competition was on Beam where she earned third with a 9.55 taking home the Bronze Medal.
The Wranglers Level 1’s won the Championship first place trophy, the Level 2’s won the second place Reserve Championship trophy, and the Level 3’s won the second place Reserve Championship trophy within the team divisions.
