It was the close of the regular summer season as the Eads Majors traveled to Holly to the venue of the 2019 League Tournament. There are five teams in the Majors division that features players from 10 to 12 years of age.

It was a building season for the Eads Minors team consisting of players from 7 to 9 years of age. The Eads group is a large team with 16 rostered players that is full of energetic seven-year-olds, for the most part, who have just entered organized ball from the tee ball ranks last year.

Young Eads Team Finishes Campaign in Opening Round of Regional Tournament in Haxtun

The very young Eads Eagles managed to qualify for the regional playoffs due to their RPI rankings as they have played well against stiff competition throughout the season. With their RPI putting them in the 13 seed of 16 teams who qualified, they ended up playing in a four-way tournament at Haxtun with the Bulldogs as the top-seeded host.

Haley Johnson Wins Yuma Golf Tournament

The Cheyenne Wells Girls’ Golf team coached by Stacy Noe has enjoyed beautiful weather during this season as they march quickly toward the Regional Tournament to be held May 6 at the Highland Hills Municipal Golf course in Greeley.

The Eads Boys’ and Girls’ track teams faced off against some particularly competitive athletes over the weekend as they were in the La Junta Tiger Relays on Friday and then faced off with a number of good tracksters in the Holly Track Meet on Saturday.

The Eads baseball team went 1 and 2 over this past week of play, but their one win was a big one as they managed to grab an upset win over undefeated Otis, 7-4, in the nightcap of a key conference double header.

Wranglers have a Strong Showing at the Tumble in the Jungle

The Wild West Athletics Wranglers out of Lamar had 16 gymnasts compete in Salina, Kansas in the Tumble in the Jungle on March 2-3, they represent 6 competitive levels and 14 different age divisions. In the All Around the girls brought home 5 Gold medals, 5 Silvers and 4 Bronze.

The Eads boys’ and girls’ track teams traveled to La Junta to the Tiger Relays on Friday. The girls came away with an impressive meet championship blowing away the second place Rocky Ford crew by nearly 30 points.
